Gateman G-Swipe Digital LockThe Gateman G-Swipe is from iRevo, a company whose origin is Korea but has since became a core component of the international company called Assa Abloy (which by no coincidence owns the Yale brand which borrows lock designs from ... no price for guessing - none other than iRevo). iRevo Gateman digital lock brand dominates the Korean market by 50% by some estimates, and if one has the time to inspect the locks, the reason is clear: solid build quality and attention to design details.
The Gateman G-Swipe exemplifies those qualities: it is heavy in the hands hinting at less plastic and more metal, a brushed matt touch panel surface that is more finger-stain resistant, large and brightly lit numbers for all age-group to use, a very sensitive fingerprint scanner, a double-action OPEN button to prevent use of objects for unlocking, a double-hook bolt for physical intrusion. Last but not least, a very modern new-age look to top it off. The small footprint Gateman G-Swipe is ideal for Singapore - be it a HDB door or a condo door with a vertical door handle. All the wear and tear is localised to the existing door handle (and not the digital lock) - and Gateman G-Swipe does faithfully the locking and unlocking and maintain it's pristine look over years. HummingBird@Interlock Only a few (perhaps no others) make digital locks like iRevo Gateman do. Despite years being the leading digital lock manufacturer in Korea, the company does not sit idle but continue to push the envelop around innovation and build quality.
Case in point: which other manufacturer make monocoque body ie. single piece like leading automobile makers for rigidity and strength against forced intrusion? Look at their internal frame below - a single piece! |
