Why it matters
Built for how you actually get home.
Single-Motion Finger Vein Unlocking
The Lockin SV40 is built around a single, fluid motion: rest your finger on the scanner while gripping the handle, and the door unlocks and opens in one movement, without a separate tap-then-turn sequence — the kind of small friction that adds up when you're carrying groceries or juggling a child on one hip.
Finger Vein, Not Fingerprint
Like Lockin's other vein-based locks, the SV40 reads the vein pattern under your skin rather than the surface ridges a fingerprint sensor relies on, which is generally more resistant to being fooled by a lifted print and more forgiving of wet or slightly dirty fingers.
Ways to Unlock
Finger vein recognition, PIN code, NFC, the Mijia app, and a physical key round out the access methods, with an anti-copy NFC card option that's useful for elderly users or anyone with finger injuries who finds biometric scanning difficult.
Thoughtful Everyday Features
Double induction unlocking helps prevent the door being triggered accidentally by a pet brushing past, and sentinel mode sounds an alarm if the door is opened while you're away on a longer trip — a genuinely useful feature for a household that travels and wants to know immediately if the door's been opened while nobody should be home.
Design & Smart Home
A fully automatic locking mechanism, multi-security intrusion sensors and alerts, a doorbell function, and a selectable English/Chinese voice guide are all built in. The lock connects to the Xiaomi Mijia app over Bluetooth, with an optional gateway for remote phone notifications on lock status.
